Solar + battery
For shifting daytime production into evening loads or supporting an off-grid energy budget.
Sources and methodology
Source-based desk research and explicit calculations; no hands-on testing claimed. Missing values remain unknown. Installation compatibility needs a separate assessment.
Typical loads
Separate daytime direct consumption from evening storage demand. Record daily energy across seasons; winter lighting and heating controls can increase demand as solar production falls.
System architecture
PV array → controller or compatible hybrid inverter → battery → DC or AC loads. DC-coupled and AC-coupled designs have different operating limits, especially when disconnected from the grid.
Illustrative sizing
For an illustrative 3 kWh/day load, 3.5 peak-sun-hours and a 75% system yield factor imply about 1.15 kW of PV. These are example inputs, not a Romania forecast. Storage for one day at 80% usable depth and 92% conversion is about 4.08 kWh.
Solar and generator
Use location-specific monthly PVGIS data and include shade, tilt and cable losses. Add a recovery strategy for several low-yield days; oversizing the battery cannot create missing energy.
Recommended equipment categories
Solar equipment
Build generation around daily energy and winter sunlight, then match storage and charging.
Solar charge controllers
Compare MPPT and PWM by PV input voltage, output current and supported battery profiles.
Batteries
Compare usable storage, DC voltage and discharge limits before choosing capacity.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a final installation recommendation?
No. Verify model manuals, actual loads, protection and site conditions with a qualified professional. Calculations and equipment classes are preliminary planning aids.
Where do I buy and who sets the price?
Purchase is with the external supplier, who controls price, delivery, inventory and returns. Confirm delivery to Romania before ordering. Commercial disclosure →
